Halloween Party Games
Halloween parties should be fun, and having a few games to play to break the ice and get people in the party spirit can be a real aid to getting the fun established:
- Guess How Many - Fill a jar with popcorn and have guests guess how many corn kernels are in the jar. This is a good game to play at the beginning of the party, as guests filter in. The winner gets to keep the jar! Make sure you count them before you put them in the jar and that you sellotape the lid on firmly
- Memory Game - Put a few theme-appropriate items (an apple, a pair of fangs, a joke knife covered in blood, a miniature skull, a rusty key etc) on a tray. Show the tray to the guests for a few seconds, then have them write down as many items as they remember.
- How Many Words – give guests a pen and paper and ask them to see how many words they can make from HALLOWEEN or SCARECROW or, if you’re feeling cruel SKELETON!
- Popcorn Relay Race - Set out bowls full of popcorn at one end of the room, empty bowls at another. Teams, in relays, must transport the popcorn from full bowl to empty, by sucking on a thick straw to trap one piece of popcorn at the end and running with it held in this way. This is a messy game - plan it for the end of the party! (Note: popcorn is a choking hazard for children under three).
- Pin The Nose on the Jack-o-Lantern, Stem on the Apple, Teeth on the Skeleton, or whatever variation best suits your party theme.
- Picture Frames - Buy clear plastic frames and have guests decorate the frames with Halloween themed paper, paints, cut-outs, and other craft items. Take a Polaroid of the guests when they arrive and the photo and frame are a great gift when they leave.
